Property Overview
Our 170 acre organic farm is located along the river in New Haven, Vermont, just a few miles North of the town of Middlebury. It features 60 acres of woods with trails, open meadows, and several acres of cultivated farmland. Buildings on the property include a 5000 sq ft historic farm house, a 700 sq ft yurt, and an open air rustic pole barn. We are honored to be stewards of this land and always look forward to sharing it with our others for retreats, workshops, farm stays and special events.
THE FARMHOUSE :
Our 5000 sq ft farmhouse is perfect for retreats, wedding parties, and family getaways. Rental of the farmhouse includes use of kitchen, studio space, living and dining rooms. We can sleep up to 18 in the house with additional sleeping available in the yurt or camping space.
Built in 1831, this home features wide plank pine flooring, large and airy rooms with lots of windows. The house is cozy yet room. An expansive sitting room with an open floor plan extends to the dining area and a spacious kitchen. While this farmhouse has been restored and well kept, it still has plenty of historic features and quirky charm that elude to it's rich history.
THE pole barn and lawn space:
Our pole barn can house up to 150 people and is great for outdoor casual gatherings such as meals, weddings and workshops. The space has a dirt floor, but works well with a rented dancefloor.
Kitchen and Dining space/Farm to table:
Our kitchen is large and comfortable to cook in with 5 burners and 2 ovens. Our main farmhouse table seats up to 12. Additional seating can be brought in for larger tables. We can even clear our sitting room for parties up to 40 people to dine during one sitting. We ask that chefs use as much of our organic farm produce for their cooking and are happy to help plan your seasonal menu and even cook for your party.
THE River Yurt:
Our 30' community built and maintained yurt is insulated and has a padded tatami mat floor. There is no wifi, however we have some off-grid electricity options. The yurt is 700 sq ft and can comfortably accommodate 25 students for yoga or up to 70 people for dance, concert, meditation or other sit down activities.
RIVER, Fields and Forests:
With over 2 miles on the New Haven River, there are plenty of swimming holes and river beaches to explore. Our pastures are also ideal for camping. And our woods will have maintained trails starting this year.
